Blizzard may release Warcraft for mobile devices in 2022

According to Activision Blizzard’s fourth quarter revenue report for 2021, the release of new “mobile Warcraft content” is scheduled for 2022. While it seems very possible to assume it will be a Warcraft mobile game, the uncertainty remains.

The report said: “Blizzard plans significant new content for the Warcraft series in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, and plans to offer players completely new mobile Warcraft content for the first time.” .

It is not clear at this time what this “mobile Warcraft mobile content” will actually offer. Activision Blizzard does not report revenue for Warcraft for mobile at the time of reporting. Again in 2021, the revenue report stated that two different free-to-play Warcraft mobile games are “evolving.”

Warcraft used to be technically “mobile content”. In some recent WoW extensions, players can use the game’s mobile companion app to earn extra game resources, or play mini-games that involve raising followers and sending them on quests.

Microsoft is known to have recently acquired Activision Blizzard for $ 69 billion. Together, we will see the impact this development will have on mobile games.
